Biography

Two decades after their first incursion, Belgian underground cult pact Insanity Reigns Supreme return to the front with their latest CD offering "Occultus Insanus Damnatus", a dark and oppressive entity that gains strength with every listen. Combining the nihilistic patterns of Death Metal with the funeral Grimness of Doom, the album makes for an individual listen.

To ensure that their creation stands proud atop others the band decided to work together with producer Andy Classen in Stage One Studios (Belphegor, Legion of the Damned et al). This has resulted in an extreme brutal sound that has pushed the new material to the next level. The band had the following to say: "we were so convinced of the quality of the new songs that we knew we had to step up the production. That's why we chose to join up with Andy, one of the best in the field. Work in the studio has never been this intense and needed full input and drive from every band member to pull it off. The end product however clearly shows this intensity. Andy drove us to our limits and the result is well worth the effort."

Being conscious that the new CD had to come with a visual package that fully represented its content, Insanity Reigns Supreme teamed up with Seth Siro Anton (Moonspell, Belphegor, Exodus et al) with the result being nothing short of phenomenal. The artist had the following to say: "Whilst working on this project, my inspiration was at its fullest. This has resulted in something truly dark and sinister. It is without a doubt one of the best artworks I have ever done."

The lyrical content describes the individual breaking free from its dogmatised chains and thus becoming his own God/Satan. This message of separating oneself from the masses is interwoven throughout the album, be it in the music, lyrics or artwork.

And now, the time has come to join the Insane Cult of Doom!
